solutioncenter.msi popup at HP Solution Center startup

This just started today:

When I startup the computer an install pop-up comes up, then a msg saying something to the effect that it can't find path to solutioncenter.msi and asking for me to browse to find it.  Also happens when I startup HP Solution Center. 

Any ideas?

Hi,

When you get this message again, then insert the installation CD. Then, in the pop-up, click on browse and go to Z:\Setup\SolutionCenter (Z: denoting the drive letter of your CD rom drive), and you should find solutioncenter.msi there. double click on it, and then click on OK on the Pop-up if it's till there, and then it should not appear again.

That did not solve the problem...I'm going to uninstall and reinstall....

alternatively u can run Microsoft softwae cleanup utility select Soluion  ccnrand remmove, tha re-install, corrupt msi file

i have a similar solution center pop-up.  Everytime I startup I get a series of pop-ups asking me to load the install CD but when you do that there aren't instructions what to do.  The first time it happened  we re-installed and that took care of it for a few days but it was soon back again.  It took about 3 months for the second computer to get these symptoms.  Is this the same .msi problem?

Sounds similar, but I was never asked to insert the CD.

you can also try uninstalling Solution Center and reinstalling it. that can resolve the issue also.

Another solution to this solutioncenter.msi pop ups after restarting the system is

You can disable all the entries of HP in the msconfig startup tab.

Click on start -> run -> type msconfig and hit enter.

In the msconfig window click on startup tab and deselect all the HP entries and then click on ok and close and restart your system.

This will mostly resolve the issue.

Before performing the above steps you can check for the functionality of the HP Solution center and then try the above steps.

Let us know the resut.

The misconfig solution did not work for me.

The reinstall did work, but make sure you go thru the extra effort to clean the system of anything to do with the installed hp software and turn off all security measures on the computer.
