I have a 1410 all in one printer. I updated driver because it is an older printer, since everytime I start the computer it prints a test page and wastes ink. I followed all instructions exactly as specified ,. from many others that have same problem. Install cartridges print page, align it and copy in scanner. I spent almost 2 hrs., almost went thru ink in both cartridges and paper to boot. To no avail. I can assure everyone that will be the last HP printer I ever buy. Other products HP make I have no problem with. The next printer will not be an HP printer. For sure.

The alignment is completed as described on page 32 of the manual here which says:
- Make sure you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the paper tray.
- The HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.Load the print cartridge alignment sheet on the left front corner of the glass with the top ofthe page to the left.
- Press the Scan button.
- The HP All-in-One aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print cartridgealignment sheet.
The alignment is completed by pressing the scan button, not the copy button. It also requires that both the color and black cartridges are working correctly.
