widget for HP C309G wireless utility disappeared

I had to uninstall the printer because our wireless router went down and our provider replaced Linksys with Netgear.

 

I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the c309g but THIS time - no widget option for the dashboard. I went into utilities and tried running - but it stops saying I can't continue because I haven't set up shared memory service yet.

 

I would love to have the widget back because it was SO easy to monitor the printer from that.

 

Any advice?

 

iMac, Intel core, OS X 10.6.7
