I have replace my DSL modem and router and now I can't get my printer to connect to the wireless network again. Yes I already had it set up before I changed my modem and router.
On the printer I used the Wireless Setup Wizard and it was successful but I can't install the printer driver on my laptop.
I have tried using the ip address on the printer to see if I can connect to the printer but that didn't work.
I have tried checking for a firewall but I can't seem to find a failproof way to assure myself there is or is not a firewall on this computer.
How do I connect to my printer? Can you please help me?
Nick

What are the IP's of the 8500 & laptop? Router name? Operating system?
Try running the HP print & scan doctor.

Thank you for your reply!
I have tried the Print and Scan doctor.
The printer IP is 192.186.3.5. The laptop IP is 192.168.1.3. I am using a Netgear N600 dualband router with a Netgear Broadband ADSL2 + Modem. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS on my laptop.
What are the IP's of the 8500 & laptop? Router name? Operating system?
Try running the HP print & scan doctor.
It did occur to me if the encryptions matched. The printer uses a WPA encryption but the laptop has only WPA2 encryption. Could that be an issue?
I also investigated firewalls and disabled it and it still didn't work.
Thank you for your help.

Two things to correct the printer IP is wrong, it should be in the 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 range.
The wireless security option should be the same as setup in the N600. (use WPA2-PSK)
