I sucessfully installed the printer from my desktop. When installing from my laptop, the battery died mid-installation.

I plugged it in and rebooted. I uninstalled all HP products. It required the CD to uninstall.

When I reinstalled, it found the printer and installed the driver. However, test prints did not work.

I used the Print and Scan Doctor. It found the Printer. But it could not print a test page. It then printed an internal test page, which worked.

It then advised uninstalling and reinstalling.

I did so and am still in the same mess. Any help?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @the8re ,

I read about the installation troubles you are having with your Officejet 8620 and I am here to offer my suggestions!

  1. Uninstall the printer by running the Microsoft Fix It tool.
  2. Restart the PC.
  3. Perform a Clean Boot and restart the PC again.
  4. Disable firewalls/anti-virus.
  5. Download and run the driver download here: HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer Drivers

Hopefully this will do the trick and you'll be installed in no time!:smileywink:

Any one have any suggestions? While I know it's not HP's fault the battery died, I'm still hoping someone can help get a real uninstall done as this seems to all point to a corrupt driver.

The Microsoft Fix It Toll does not exist anymore. Please update, thanks.
