C7180 all in one can not scan to computer

When I select scan menu and scan to computer and press ok, an orange exclamation mark lights up under the cancell button and the dialogue reads  "refer to device documentation for troubleshoot" but  cannot find any thing that relates to this, this does not effect the other scan options or printing from the computer,  (pavilion dv 9000)

    I need some information from you to help me better understand your situation.

 

Which OS are you running XP, Vista, Windows 7

What driver for the C7180 do you have installed.  Full feature, basic

How is it connected to your PC.  USB, wired or wireless

Hi I am running vista home 32 bit   wireless     I have downloaded full program and scan program  cheers

OK   I have done that  and although I can scan to my PC from my printer by the commands on my PC  there is no change to the condition on the printer

just tried it again this time it started to scan and then said no computer connected  I then went to the wizard and it said I was connected!!!!!!!!!!!

If you open up solution center can you see your ink levels?

I have still got this problem .   My printer will not accept the command scan to computer an orange exclamation mark appears and tells me to refer to trouble shooting documentation but there is nothing listed relating to this

I have the same problem and with My HP 8510w mobile workstation windows 7...HP to HP should be a easy one but spent best part of 6 months tring to install and scan
