I cannot get my DeskJet 895Cse to install on my recently upgraded (to Windows 7) corporate ThinkPad. This machine is 64 bit. The company controls access to windows update - no automatic connection allowed.
I have a personal 32 bit ThinkPad that I upgraded to windows 7 and the deskjet installed correctly using the windows update connection.
How can I get the correct drivers directly so I can thumbdrive load them into my corporate ThinkPad?

There are two possibilities:
- Go to Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, seleect some dummy port like LPT1:, and when the list of printers comes up click Windows Update in the lower right. (This is different than the normal Windows Update and may be workable). The list will take several minutes to update, after that you can cancel the installation and then just plug in the USB cable for the Deskjet 895 and the pritner would install automatically.
- If the above is blocked then from another computer visit the Microsoft Catalog Update site using IE (no other browsers are supported). Search for Deskjet 895cse and the driver for 64 bit Windows 7 will be the file that is 11.6Mb in size.
