Hi @Ashrut,

Usually when you do the Semi-Reset it removes any passwords and you can access the EWS and set up a new one.

I believe the default settings might be, admin and leave the password blank.

It could also be Administrator for both the user name and the password.

Hope this helps. Thank You.

Hi, unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I have reset, and tried with all possible options - Admin/Blank/Administrator etc. but none of these work.

Hi @Ashrut,

Where are you getting prompted for the Username and Password? (EWS-after putting in the IP or when trying to change the Advanced settings)

Did you perform the Semi Reset that I sent you in the PM? This should remove any passwords from the printer and the EWS.

Thank You.

Yes, I performed the reset as per instructions.

I am prompted for password when I try to go to Settings. There is no password prompt when I enter the IP Address.

Hi @Ashrut,

Thanks for letting me know that you are still getting prompted for the password, from the printer's display panel when trying to access the menus. The Semi Reset I sent to you in the PM will reset the printer back to factory settings and remove any passwords. The Partial Reset won't. Please try it one more time to see if you have better luck!

If the issue continues, please Contact HP Support for further assistance. Fill in the model number and the form to receive a case number for quicker assistance. Thank You.

I need to have the admin password reset on my Envy 4500 printer, too.

I guess next step is to check my private message for instructions. In the mean time I'll be hanging in there.

Thanks!
