HP All-in-One software fails to install on Windows 7....

1.  HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One

2.  Windows 7 (64-bit)

I recently bought a new laptop (Pavilion dv6) and wanted to install the software packaged for my above mentioned All-in-One printer.  I downloaded it just fine, began the installation process and when it gets down to the "Installing Software..." The error message below pops up.  One I click on "ok" the whole thing quits and shuts down.

3.  The system cannot find the path specified

     "C:\Users\Brenton\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS084C\Setup\...\Setup\hpzprl40.exe" ...

I've searched high and low trying to figure this out.  Any help in getting this stuff installed so I can get back to using my All-in-One printer.

Peace,

   Brenton

Re: HP All-in-One software fails to install on Windows 7....

Hi Confused_Owner,

Try using the scrubber built into the CD or Download.

From Original installation CD:

1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer

2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-74950-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Type %temp% in the run field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-74950-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...=

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

Re: HP All-in-One software fails to install on Windows 7....

New Error Message

1.  HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One

2.  Windows 7 (64-bit)

After following the above mentioned directions I started the process over and this is what happened.

"Fatal error during installation."

The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin.  The installation cannot continue.  Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.

Please go to http://www.hp.com/support for troubleshooting information about "Fatal Error" and "MSI.netdevicemanager40"

-  I follow the instructions when it downloads the HP Installation Troubleshooter but it isn’t of any help in my situation.

Please help me resolve this issue.

Thanks

Re: HP All-in-One software fails to install on Windows 7....

I first want to thank the forum for you help.

I followed your directions to search out the error code and did as suggested.  Even as I did everything I was directed I get the same error again.  What am I to do now?

Thanks,

Re: HP All-in-One software fails to install on Windows 7....

Hi COnfused_Owner,

It appears that the operating system on your computer may be contributing to the installation failures. Install the printer on a different computer, and let me know if you have the same issues?
