Re: HP DESKJET 3055A WONT SCAN TO PDF

If you initiate a scan from the front panel of the printer, it will automatically save as a .jpg file onto your computer.  If you open up either HP Printer Assistant or HP Scan from your PC, it gives you the option to select which file format you want to save it as.  Even third party scanners give you the option to "Save As."

I will be more than happy to guide you through the process or troubleshoot this with you if you answer a few questions for me please:

  1. What is the operating system of the computer you are using?
  2. Have you installed the printer's software onto that computer?
  3. What method are you using to scan?
  4. How is the printer connected (USB, wireless or Ethernet)

I'm happy to help!

Thank you for answering my questions.  Search for and select HP Scan and when the window pops up, you should see two different sections to choose a multitude of different file types.  One is obviously on the left hand side but the second place to choose .pdf if you want is under the bottom button called "File Type."

I have posted a picture of what I see when I open HP Scan. Let me know if this does not help you.
