Hi, this is a relatively new printer & scanner: it was bought earlier this year. Yet since buying a new Windows 8 laptop, it's not compatible.
When is a driver going to be issued? I can't scan to the PC, because even though everything is set up perfectly - it won't connect. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but now it won't install from CD rom as it's not compatible with my operating system.
Can someone help me?

You can find new driver for Windows 8 from the following link (updated on 22-Oct-2012):

The drivers posted above are not intended for your printer, the Deskjet 3050A (J611) uses a different software than the listed 3050 software.
A new software for your product is not yet availble, I believe it should become available during the next days..
In the meantime you may scan through the network using the HP Scan and Capture app, available at the Windows Store.
If you use USB conenction you may get basic scan functionality using the Windows Fax and Scan application.

The Deskjet 3050A drivers and software for Windows 8 has been released. Below is the right link for the Deskjet 3050A on Windows 8. I've also linked a post I made that tells you more about installing the printer on Windows 8. Hope this helps.
