Good evening,

For a demo event i want to change the wireless direct password of my HP Envy 5640, or remove the password completly. Is there a way to do this?

The printer is installed correctly, wireless. I have a notebook with Windows7 64-bit.

thanks for helping, with best regards,

Roland

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. But that option is not available in this printer. In the Photosmarts series it worked liked that.

You can only change the password to a personal one. This is possible if your login into the printer with its IP-adress, in a browser.

best regards,

Roland

Hello Rolfpoland,

Welcome to the HP Forums.

To remove the password on the printer you would need to go on the Wrench icon on the printer display and then go to the Wireless settings, scroll down to the Restore Network Default option.

This will clear the password.

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

Thanks for your time.

I have just upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. All okay except windows does not see my HP Envy Printer. I tried to re-install it again but keep getting a message to quote the WPs pin how do I find out what that was as I have no record of every setting one?

Hello again Rolfpoland,

On the front panel of the Envy printer, please go into the Setup Menu and then go to the Tool Menu and then Restore Factory Defaults.  Select YES to Restore.

You can then go to the Wireless Menu and run through the  Wireless Setup Wizard.

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest contacting HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. , : click here.

Thanks once again for your time.
