HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

Hi guys,

I have an HP LaserJet P2015 installed in Windows 7 32Bit, with HP Universal Printer Driver PCL5, and every time I make a printout, the Exclamation Led of my printer will blink permanently until I press the GREEN BUTTON and only then he will print, nnd it is happening every time.

In addition, I tried to install PCL 6 & PS universal drivers and also I tried the built in driver from my OS, but still I got the same problem.

Your timely response guys in relation to the above solution are highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

Hello,

Here is a document that explains what the status light displays mean when the blink. I would keep this for future reference.

p2015 - Status Light Patterns

For your light pattern, scroll down to the bottom under "Fatal error secondary messages." It looks like yours could either be:

55

50007
Engine error. The formatter and engine are not communicating.
  1. Unplug the printer, and then plug it in again.
  2. If the error persists, contact HP Support.

OR

57Fan motor error
  1. Turn the printer off and then on.
  2. If the error persists, contact HP Support.

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

Hi AuntieEm,

Thank you for sharing your idea. Unfurtunately, those sugested solutions are not working.. I think the problem is with the Driver itselft of Windows 7, because as i tried to connect it with Windows XP and installed the PCL6 driver, he is working properly with out any problem.

If you have nay idea to solve this issue please don't hesitate to share it. once again, thank you so much.

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

I would like you to try the following and see if this helps:

1. Go to notepad and type "This is a test."

2. Go to File - Print

3. Under the Print screen, click on the Preferences button

4. Click on Paper/Quality Tab

5. Use these settings:  Paper = Letter       Paper Source = Tray 2

If the print job prints from tray 2, then the printer is working. You will then need to go back to whatever application you are trying to print from and see if it is set to manual feed or a different paper size (should be set to paper).

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

Fell_Free,

Have you tried a different USB cable? Sometimes the connection will cause "garbage" to be transmitted to the printer and cause an error.

Also, if you aren't using the newest verion of the UPD driver, please download and use it. A new version was posted to hp.com on 12/1.

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

Hi AuntieEm,

Tnx for your response again. I tried to install the new released PCL6 Driver but i think it's getting worse than before, because if I will send a print out to the printer, the below error print out comes first every time:

GET /DevMgmt/DiscoveryTree.xml HTTP/1.1

Host: 127.0.0.1:8080

Then after the error prints out, the ATTENTION LIGHT will blink again then I have to press now the GO button to continue the printing with my documents that i have sent to printer.

I tried also to change the USB Cable, but it's the same. and i'm sure that the there's no problem with the usb cable because the printer with that cable is working perfectly with WINDOWS XP.

Re: HP LaserJet P2015 Driver Problem

It sounds like you have a Universal Print Driver installed. You need to uninstall the UPD. Uninstall the printer software. Then try reinstalling the printer software.

The other option, after uninstalling the UPD and printer software is to plug the printer in and let the WinOS pick your driver.
