I'm wondering how to install the HP 3055 printer drivers/software without having the setup routine use the autorun.inf file ?Our virus scan software blocks all attempts to access any file named autorun.inf due to the vulnerability of this file being infected by viruses. I have tried everything I can think of to work around this issue without any luck. The autorun.inf file appears to be the main control mechanism for this installation routine. I need another installation method that does not use this file, but will get the same affect as the installation routine that uses it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try doing this step, this might help you get passed on your anti virus
start > run > msconfig > under SERVICES TAB > on the bottom left hand side you would see a checkbox that says: hide all microsoft services > after you have checked that box click on the button that says disable all the services and it would restart
so right after the computer restarts that would be the time to try and installing your printer.
if this doesnt help you then try doing this:
reboot the computer continuosly press F8 until it gives you the options where you can enter the safe mode
then try installing it
let me know if this helps you. thanks.
