My printer will not scan..I get a message to start the scan from my computer and i don't know

When I try to scan to my computer I get the following message.

Scan Problem

Try starting scan from computer. Refer to documentation for details.

I don't have any doumentation!

Hi Thomajs112748,

 

Open the icon on your desktop that looks like the printer, and then click on Manage scan to computer to make sure this feature is enabled.

I'm having the same problem as the original poster, but the scanning portion does not show up on the Printer page.

Running on a brand new Dell Optiplex 7010

Win 7 Enterprise 64

Fully updated

 

This wasn't a problem with the older Optiplex running XP Pro 64

 

Wireless is not an option because this is a corporate network

 

Already uninstalled, rebooted, downloaded latest drivers from HP

Any additional help would be great for I cannot dedicate any more time to this users issue...

You will need to uninstall the printer, and then reinstall using the newest version software from the link below.

Can you scan from Microsoft paint or Windows fax and scan?

Hi pcwizard,

 

I tried from Fax & Scan and it errored out saying could not connect. I ran the Print and Scan Doctor which required a reboot and after it said Welcome Back within the app, it said it could not repair, please click the link for support - which brought me to the HP Support page.


One thing that sticks out in the above image that I posted compared to what the other customer posted, this B210 doesn't have a Scanner Actions option. Not sure if that helps, but it seems odd that it's not there.

Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the printer.

 

1. Open Control Panel

2. Click on Uninstall a program

3. Uninstall the B210 from the list

4. Reboot your computer

5. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

 

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

 

6. Download the full feature software and drivers, and then reinstall the printer.
