Officejet Pro L7780 wireless installation issues.

I have an HP Officejet Pro 7780 all in one printer. My operating system is Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.  My printer works fine on my desktop (print, scan, fax).  I have been trying to install the printer on my Laptop, Windows 7 64 bit Home Premoum but am unable to scan or fax. Printing is not an issue. Have installed and reinstalled several times with same result.  Have taken the following steps:

Complete uninstall via L4 Uninstall.bat

Registry Check with Advanced System Care

Removed all HP files/directories from Windows Explorer

Ran disk cleanup under Accessories/System Tools

MSCONFIG: Checked Selective startup-unchecked load startup items.  Under Services Checked Hide Microsoft Services and disabled the remaining services.

Rebooted

Registry Check with Advanced System Care

Disk Cleanup under Accessories/System Tools

Rebooted

Downloaded Full Feature Software from HP

Disabled Windows Firewall and antifvirus program.

Ran install program under recommended software for wireless 802.1

Ran install program for wireless 802.1 in following sequence: Drivers;Digital Imaging: Solution Center; followed by remaining programs. Each install attemp was preceeded by all the steps outlined above.

Solution Center Messeage: installation not complete

I copied the scan .exe file to the desktop but received message: unable to scan because of missing software.

The USB connection instructions are clear when to turn the power on and connect the USB cable.  However, I could not fine specific instructions for 802.1 wirless setup. When do I turn the power on.  Would appreciate and help and suggestions.

Hi Bermuda346,

Try using the scrubber built into the CD or Download.

From Original installation CD:

1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer

2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. Run the L4uninstall.exe or .bat

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

Adobe Flash Player Update

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

Full Feature software and drivers

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. Run the L4uninstall.exe or .bat

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

Adobe Flash Player Update

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

Full Feature software and drivers

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

Re: Officejet Pro L7780 wireless installation issues.

My software was downloaded and extracted.  I followed your procedure in the response several times without success. I am using the wireless 802.1 install process: Question: under this process when does one power the printer.
