Print Head Failure notice on brand new HP photosmart c310a.

I have a brand new HP Photosmart Premium c310a printer. Everyday I get a message box stating "Print head failure....The printhead appears to be missing or damaged. Printing cannot occur without the printhead or cartridge installed."  I even ran the printer through the printhead cleaning and I still get the notice.

 

The printer works and prints great, but I continue to get the message box. Is there anything I can do to stop the notice? I'm running it on the Mac OS X.

Hi

As you've already cleaned the printhead I'd suggest you contact HP Phone Support for a replacement, as this is a brand new product.

I would suggest you try to remove all the cartridges first, then check their ventilation areas(it a small T-shaped hole on the top of the cartridge, right where you remove the orange tape). Make sure it is clear and there is nothing clogging/blocking it.

 

Also remove the printhead. Do both steps while the printer is still turned on.

 

While the unit is powered up, unplug the power cord from the back, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back.

 

Wait for the message telling you that the printhead/cartridges are missing, then put everything back into the printer. Make sure they are seated firm and correct.

I have the same problem, but only when trying to print from my wife's MacBook Air.  My daughter's Dell laptop, my HP laptop, a iPad 1 and an iPad2 all print without difficulty to this printer, but not my wife's laptop.  

 

I have checked for driver updates and other application software updates

I have removed and replaced the ink cartridges

I have removed and reinstalled the print heads

 

-- all without success in clearing this infernal error message.

 

And yet, I can print a test page and an alignment page from her laptop without problem. Go figure.

Appear to have the same problem on a C310a with brand new cartridges.  Printer shows all 3 cartridges as LOW, but I've barely used them to print about 10-15, 4 x 6 prints.  It's infuriating.  Already worked with HP tech support to rule everything else out.  Now they are saying it might be the printhead, but no offer to replace it yet.

HP finally acknowledged it could be a failed print head and I just received a free 'kit' containing a new print head, cleaning pads, and full set of new 564 ink cartridges.  Nice that they sent the cartridges, because I'm pretty sure the new set I had just bought before this failure are substantially used up, if not altogether trashed.

 

I'll know this evening if the problem is solved by the new print head.

I have the same problem with my c310a not printing black after installing new cartridges. Can you please tell me if the new printheads solved the problem? Thanks.
