Windows 8 compatibility with HP laserjet 1000 series.

I've previously used Windows XP and my printer, Laserjet 1000 was working perfectly. Right now I've installed new Windows 8, bought it, all drivers are running properly, but the printer one doesn't work. Tried to find solutions in internet and last result I found was http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?&objectID=c03365145. Can you make new software, give me an advice how to install it? I don't want to get a new printer just because of driver. This one worked long time for me. Thank you in advance.

Re: Windows 8 compatibility with HP laserjet 1000 series.

Re: Windows 8 compatibility with HP laserjet 1000 series.

I don't think that you need to see if it is compatible. What I mean is that usually my printer is supposed to install using Windows 7, but since I installed Windows 8 recently, it still can install properly.

The thing that you need to do is that you need to make sure that you have the same WiFi as your printer. That will ensure your installation from your computer to your printer instantly without any software from HP.

So you have to go to Settings and then go to Devices. After you go to Devices, click on Scan for Devices. Scan and make sure that you have the same WiFi as your printer.

Re: Windows 8 compatibility with HP laserjet 1000 series.

So I cannot use my HP Laserjet 1000 any longer because with my new Windows 8 compter there is no driver available? This is silly. I need to keep a Windows XP machine around just so I can use my printer. And since my XP machine has crashed, that means I will need to get another used XP machine.

Please "advice" me as early as possible?  Your advice is you are sol. sol stands for **bleep** out of luck. Windows 8 not compatable with laserjet 1000. HP wants you to buy a new printer.
