disable the startup loading of my digital imaging monitor

I want to disable the HP digital imaging monitor from loading at startup. Is this possible, and how do I do it?

I use a  all-in-one inkjet 3680

Re: disable the startup loading of my digital imaging monitor

Hi,

If you are using windows, Click start, run, and typ msconfig. On the tabs "running processes" and "services" find HPQTRA08.EXE and disable it. That file is the digital imaging monitor.

Re: disable the startup loading of my digital imaging monitor

OK. The item in services tab was hpqcsx08 . However, I clicked the startup tab and unchecked the HP digital imaging monitor box, as well as the open office box too. Prolly gonna do it. Let you know after I reboot.

Re: disable the startup loading of my digital imaging monitor

Thats a differant one, you can always try, but it should be HPQTRA08, also check your startup folder.

Re: disable the startup loading of my digital imaging monitor

at restart I get a dialouge box that says windows has restarted in selective/diagnostic mode, check the normal to undo the changes, which I did. I tried again, and when the dialogue came up, I checked do not show this message again or start the utility when windows starts.  Neither digital imaging or open office started on the reboot.

OK to leave it like that?

Re: disable the startup loading of my digital imaging monitor

Sure, if it poses any issues, you can always revert to normal boot up. Thats what went wrong them if you deselect an itam in their your are booting up selective and not normal. Normal would be with the services on. So as long as you are not having other sideaffects from booting selective its ok to leave it like that. If you do have issues, just go to normal boot again :-)
