Please help remove rocketlife communicator

Thanks

HP Recommended
Hi Suggiesmom.

Please see the instructions earlier in this thread at http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup-e-g-Windows-8/how-do-I-remove-rocketli...

In short, when the Communicator icon appears at the bottom right of your screen, you can turn off individual message types by right-clicking on the icon.

To turn off all notifications, click the lightning bolt button at the top right of the screen in HP Photo Creations. Then turn off the checkbox labeled Enable Notifications.

Our customer support team can walk you through the process. They're at hpphotocreations@hp.com.

Hope this helps,

I am getting very tired of this stupid, annoying RocketLife Communicator Icon appearing on my task bar on my HP Pavilion g7-1310us Notebook PC and I want it gone, and I mean the stupid RocketLife Communicator icon gone, it looks like a stupid book (yes the icon looks like a book, a little blue book). It's very annoying and all the check marks that were active on it I have unchecked yet this stupid annoying icon keeps appearing. I even turned off the online features for HP Photo Creations yet this icon for the RocketLife Communicator keeps showing up on my task bar and only leaves after right clicking it and telling it to "quite" just for it to come back within half an hour to an hour later (even when HP Photo Creations isn't running).
Seems like HP should get rid of this stupid and extremely annoying RocketLife Communicator and STOP adding unneeded Third Party Software to their programs that you don't even know you're getting until the programs are installed then no option to uninstall the programs that you don't want such as this RocketLife Communicator. I wanted HP Photo Creations not this extra RocketLife Communicator garbage software that is taking up valuable hard drive space and memory on my laptop especially when I am not using the stupid and annoying RocketLife Communicator.
HP, do everyone that uses your software and products in general a ultimate favor and get away from using the Third Party Software such as the RocketLife Communicator and give your customers the option/ability to choose to have the Third Party Software install or not install.

Jet, I just sent you a private message with instructions on contacting our customer support team.

The icon shouldn't be appearing if you turned off all the checkmarks, so we suspect there's some old software on your computer.

Thanks for letting us know,

I have rocketlife installed on my laptop. How do I uninstall it.

I've read the detailed instructions provided.  I must say that I felt off-put by having to see a pop-up message from HP Photocreations (as if anyone would really want this).  I tried to follow the instructions but there is no lightening icon on the app when I open it.  So  it appears, I will have to uninstall Photo Creations like others have mentioned they will have to as well.  Yes, I agree that HP has done itself and its customers a great disservice.

I have had enormous problems trying to use this program.  I am able to download it but it will not allow display and use on my PC.

Last year I successfully used the program and when it was updated I keep getting a message

"UNABLE TODOWNLOAD HP PHOTO CREATIONS UPDATE" Error Number DDC 0008.

I have had a IT specialist look at it  who cannot fin the fault with my computer and reports it some BUG IN YOUR SYSTEM

please advise

Andy

Hi Pekalmy.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the program should fix the DDC error. Here are step-by-step directions for Windows 10:

1. Check Your Internet Connection

  • If you’re accessing the Internet from a business or office network, please be sure that the network or firewall allows access to the HP Photo Creations software.
  • Check your computer’s clock to be sure the date and time are set correctly.

2. Uninstall and Reinstall HP Photo Creations
Step 1: Uninstall HP Photo Creations (Windows)

  1. Click on the Windows icon
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click on System
  4. Click on Apps & features
  5. From the program list, select HP Photo Creations and click Uninstall.

Step 2: Download and reinstall HP Photo Creations

  1. Go to our website: https://shop2.rocketlifeproduction.com/hpfe6fd34b208847e8f8254b9be96e8c4c/catalog.html?gta=download
  2. Click the Download button. Depending on your browser, you can choose to run or save the program. Choose Run if available. (If you chose Save instead, double-click the downloaded file.)
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to reinstall HP Photo Creations.

Step 3: Open HP Photo Creations
Open HP Photo Creations by double-clicking the desktop shortcut, and confirm that it is working. Restarting your computer can help too.

Whilst the directions were clear and concise, they were completely incorrect and did not work for HP Spammicator on my PC running win 10 with HP photo junk build 19522.56726.

A) The icon appears in the notofocation tray every HOUR!!!! I know this because in doing so it activates the toolbar which takes focus and covers what you are doing on screen. it is impossuible to select/click on the pop-up in the notification tray. When the mouse hovers over it, the icon disappears. OK, so that didn't work.

B) I then checked this forum and find that I can deselect this by starting HP photo creations and then selecting the 'lightning bolt'.  There is only one problem, in that there is no lighting bolt, nor is there an option for Online feature options.

Can you please tell me how I can

a) remove this.

b) give lifelong hiccups to the HP marketing genius(es) who thought that spam and irritation were a great marketing ploy.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark.

Thanks for the hiccup laugh! Yes, HP Photo Creations has changed since I posted those directions four years ago, and the lightning bolt menu no longer exists.

You should still be able to right-click on the Communicator icon in the Windows notification area and deselect the types of messages you don't want. For example, you may want to receive software update notices but skip the creative tips.

Because your system is hiding the icon before you can click it, here's another way to bring up the Communicator preferences menu:

  1. Right-click on the HP Photo Creations program icon and select Open file location. (You may have to open the location twice if the icon was a shortcut.)
  2. A directory will open. Locate Communicator.exe and double-click it.
  3. After a few seconds, the Communicator icon will appear at the bottom of your screen. Right-click on the icon to open the preferences menu.
  4. Deselect the types of messages you don't want.
