Hi erin027,

I'd like to help.  Can you answer some questions?

  1. Can you give me the Model # for your printer?  An example would be A909g.
  2. What are your estimated ink levels for each cartridge ( according to the printer )?
  3. Is the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector or battery backup?

Thanks for helping me out!

1. Model#  Officejet Pro 8500 wireless. CB023A (on the back of the printer)

2. I can't tell the level because it won't take me to the homepage screen. It keeps cleaning and cleaning, but all of my inks are pretty full, because I replaced it recently.

3. It's connected with extention, not directly to a wall outlet.

So after the hard reset, cleaning printhead message was gone and a new message came up, "Aligning printer". It printed out a few pages and then it went back to normal.

Glad to here that the printer is back to normal.   Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you.  🙂

HELP!!!  I have tried everything suggested and my printerhead keeps cleaning. It started when I replaced the cyan and yellow after receiving the message.  Then I got a message to change the magenta.  I used HP ink.  Now it just keep cleaning and cleaning to the point were my new cartridges read only a third full!!!  I have tried a hard reset.  I have tried uninstalling the printheads and ink after shutting it down. Do not know what else to do.  I am truly regretting buying a hp.  I paid nearly $300 for it and now almost another $90 worth of ink is gone.
