1012 Laser Printer will not work with Vista Premium - Help!

Getting the runaround for the last 2 weeks with hp customer and tech support. Apparently this laser printer is discontinued and I cannot received any support. HOWEVER, I made an investment in using the hp laser printer ( I only use Hp) and now it will not work on my new Vista PC. I have been on the hp website, now the forums, called customer service and now on twitter (digitaldynamo)  until I received a solution. Last evening, because of a large project, I Had to purchase addition "ink"  because it was the only other printers that I had - this is not a solution, this is not the HP way.

What is a viable solution - can't believe there is not fix for this.

HP1010 / hp1012 / hp1015 on Win 7

Even though it references Win 7 64 bit, following the directions I was able to spoof my computer into using the HP 3550 PCL 5 drivers.
