I get the message "borderless printing is not supported on this printer" when printing from iPhoto or HP Photosmart Studio, when I've always gotten them in the past. I'm also having problems aligning prints when using Studio -- I get lots of half-pages. I've downloaded all program upgrades as they come out, and hoped a new HP Photosmart Studio would help, but couldn't find one. Apparently the program is no longer supplied for my OS (OS X v10.6.8, running on an iMac.) I have always had to scan using my Apple software rather than HP. Is this now true for photo printing as well?

Hello,
Thanks for the post. With this one, I've included a link below regarding the borderless issue, you should have the ability with both 10.5/10.6. I've also included a link regarding scanning using the HP software in various MAC OS's. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, the Print menu for iPhoto, my sole photo editiing and printing program now that Photosmart Studio is gone, is not like the "standard" menu the HP report to which you link shows, which is common with word processing software. The iPhoto print menu has similar options, arranged differently, but there is no "print borderless" option that I can fine. I can tell it to give me a 4x6 print on my 4x6 paper, and it tries, but still leaves a 1/16"-1/8" lopsided border, which isn't even a good border. If you don't mind, please take a look at iPhoto yourself. Once again, this inability to get borderless prints is something NEW. Photosmart Studio allowed them.
I haven't tried the other link yet, which will supposedly let me scan using HP software. I'm sure you know more than I do about the horrible incmpatibilities between HP scanners and Apple OS's dating back at least as far as OS 9. When I bought the Photosmart I was using an eMac with OS X 10.3, and within a week, with the aid of the live warranty help, I had abandoned HP software entirely in favor of the File menu in Preview, which works so well I'm not sure what HP software could give me. But to be fair, I'll take a look at this link.
