I'm trying to figure out how to print borderless 8.5x11 duplex on my HP C7280 printer. I had previously had Mac OS X 10.5 with the HP drivers, which didn't work 100% correctly, but permitted me to print borderless 8.5x11, which was immensely useful for printing brochures (slow, yes, but I could leave it unattended and come back to find a stack ready to fold).
However, I've since upgraded to Snow Leopard and used the HP Drivers provided there and it doesn't permit the combination of borderless and duplexing for any page size other than Hagaki. I believe the Apple driver is actually provided by HP for CUPS, and it is certainly smaller, faster, and otherwise better supports the printer than HPs driver package provided at hp.com.
Does anyone know if borderless 8.5x11 duplex is only available with the HP driver (and is it currently still supported)? Does anyone know what I need to modify in order to provide this mode of printing using OS X and the HP CUPS drivers (I've modified the PPD and removed the UIConstraints that prohibit borderless 8.5x11 duplexing, and I've modified the *.xml files in /Library/Printers/hp/cups/Photosmart.driver/Conten
