C7180 and HP Solution Center

I have had a C7180 All-in-One for a couple of years or so and it has been generally fine. However, one day I found the printer had been uninstalled. Easy to re-install but can't now use the scanning software for some reason. Get the message "An unexpected internal error has occurred. Re-install the Photo & Imaging Software and try again". So, having done that a couple of times, still no joy. Thoughts? Thanks
