C7280 - Unsuccessful software and driver update/install

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and would really appreciate your help.

I have a Photosmart C7280 All-In-One connected to my network via ethernet and running on Windows 7 64-bit which up until recently has been working ok.

However I came to do a scan today and the software was missing! (not too sure why)

I decided to download the file PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_140 .exe from the HP website and uninstalled all the relevant software. This was done successfully but when I attempt to reinstall it gets as far as checking the system and applying updates and then simply crashes!?

I've attempted this at least 6 times now and even tried quitting the firewall, restarts, USB connection and all to no avail

If anyone has had similar problems and could help that would be great.

Hello Tarkus,

When you run the installation, during "checking syste ", a window would pop up , which gives inforamtion about ..

• Which drive the s/w would be installed.
• Customizing the installation, like in which applications doyou want to install.
• Internet connection.

Click on Internet Connection, then there would be 2 options displayed there in.  Select the "NO " on each of them, click OK , and then OK to continue the installation.There by  the installation would go on smoothly.

I am having the same problem, but I have no window that comes up with any options about INternet Connection.

I'm on AMD with Windows 7, 64bit.  I have a Netgear N300 wireless router.  When I accessed it through a network map display, I saw a link to "Update Firmware."  Clicking that link triggered an update, including a driver install for my printer.  I was previously frustrated by the driver install problems, and the inability to launch the HP Solution Center.  Also, my scanner had lost its setup.

  After the installs, ALL these problem were solved.
