Can't download drivers for my Photosmart C5280 on OS x 10.7

I was surprised that even though the photosmart c5280 was listed as having an available driver for my new OS X 10.7, I was unable to download it.  This is what I did. The first message said: Would you like to download and install software for HP Photosmart C5200 series? I clicked; Not Now.

Then I went to the Apple system preferences/Print & Scan + Hp Photosmart C5200 Series. Add.

The error message said: The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software.

I have made no changes to my operating system, and I have not installed new hardware.

Had first problems ever with my Photosmart C5280 All-in-One (using Windows 7) , e, and finally uninstalled the program.  My CD would not install again,so I tried several times from their Web site. Called HP tech support, and he couldn't download for 3-1/2 hours. Called again next day and tech support still could not install driver, insisted I needed Windows Ultimate, got that, installed that, they still could not install.  Where is the problem?  I really like this printer and don't want a bigger, bulkier, no more reliable one that this one. It gave me incredible pix and great text too...but best part was the tricolor cartridge...only 2 cartridges total, very inexpensive.

Thanks for the post.  I've pasted a link below to our drivers page for your product.  I'm not sure which OS (Windows or MAC) you are running, (there is some conflicting information on the post) but both are supported on this Photosmart.  Win7 and MAC OS X 10.7.  I might recommend downloading from here and installing.  Good Luck!

Thanks so much.  We've tried from that site at least a dozen times, no luck, and HP tech support gave it a try and couldn't do it either.  Am thinking it has to do with corruption of my OS Win7-64) and may work on that. This machine prints my photos so incredibly well on all my experimental paper media, otherwise I'd toss it, as unenvironmental as that may be.

System Preferences -> Print & Scan - > Add (+) Printer

"HP Photosmart C5200 Series" shows in list

Print Using: Photosmart C5200 serires selected

Hit the 'Add' button

"Setting up 'HP Photosmart C5200 series...finding software' displays

Message pops up: "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software."

Well, it is certainly nowhere to be found on the site. The link given in this thread only leads me to the instructions for adding the printer driver through software update. THIS DOES NOT WORK. My printer is useless to me now...please provide a direct link or fix it with apple, PLEASE.

AFter screwing around with this for over 2 hours, I tried one more time. and guess what, it downloaded. Must have been some kind of network glitch with Apple...all I can figure.
