Error in communication while scanning

Following suggested fixes, I just reinstalled Full Feature download and that hasn't solved my porblem.  Utility Diagnosic tool says at Solution Center....unable to find components.  Now what do I do???

hi there,

could you provide the community with a little more information to help narrow troubleshooting? Things like your printer model and your operating system help out a lot.

My model is HP Photosmart C4180 and I'm using Windows HP Home Edition.  I have tried every solution on the HP Website including uninstalling and reinstalling software.  I still cannot scan without using Paint and that is terrible quality.

 

Thanks for any help you can give me.
