I am using Windows 7, 64-Bit with MS Office 2010. Excel 2010 crashes when HP Photosmart C7280 is the default printer. I have used other printers as the default and Excel 2010 does not crash. Need help asap.

Does this happen in any other applications? Make sure you have updated Office as I have seen Office 2010 cause issues with HP printers.
Best of luck

I did some more research and found this which solved the issue for some users on the microsoft forum. Try this:
File > Options > Advanced > General : uncheck Enable multi-threaded processing .

I have the same problem with Excel 2010 crashing or not being able to save unless I remove my HP C4480 inkjet "All in One" printer as the default printer. I've looked for a patch (no luck), and the above solution with changing the option in Excel for hyperthreading seems to have worked for me. Finally, a solution to this frustrating problem! I've searched around and hadn't found that solution prior to this, so thanks a million! Kudo's for you!
