HP 6500, Vista, Solution Center screen blank

When I initiate HP Solution Center to set scan setting for my new 6500N Office Jet (Running wireless under Vista), I get the Solution Center splash screen and then a blank solution center screen and nothing farther.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Solution Center from the CD that came with the printer, no change.

The printer otherwise works OK.

Have you installed Adobe Flash Player on your PC?

Yes, I do have Flash installed. Just in case it had become corrupted, I uninstalled and reinstalled it. No change.

Is there a difference with Flash Player as a Firefox plugin? Are there multiple versions of Flash?

I think Flash player for IE and other browsers are different. SC needs the Flash player to be installed through IE, and not the offline installation file.

That was the magic answer! Installing Flash under IE 8 resolved the problem.
