HP Customer Participation Program 10.0

i  have  this  program and  it  says  if i uninstall it  that it will  affect  the  function  of  my printer.  i  want to remove it because

i  have very low space on my  hard drive  and  it  is    110 mb.    if  i  uninstall  it  what  does it affect?

I have an HP Officejet J4540 All-in-One. HP Customer Participation 10.0 is hogging up 225.00 MB of memmory on my pc. I'm reading different questions and answers about uninstalling it on Google. I'm still not sure though. I have the installation disc for my printer. Do you have yours? Did you un-install it yet? If so, let me know if it affected your printer's performance or not. Thanks.
