HP Deskjet 1500 Series vs Windows 7 64bit

I have d/loaded driver for Dj1520 to install on the abovementioned OS but it tells me that Win 7 is not a supported OS. What gives?

Re: HP Deskjet 1500 Series vs Windows 7 64bit

What driver did you download?  I just downloaded the driver from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=al-76327-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&... and it installed fine on my Windows 7 x64 system.

Note that the HP drivers will generally not install if you are using an evaluation version of Windows 7.  The Beta or 7100 versions of Windows 7 will soon expire and will need to be replaced.

Bob;

Thanks for the reply, but the link you provided is exactly what I have d/loaded. The OS Edition is Windows Vista 2007 Home Premium.  Is this something out of date?

Are Windows Vista and Windows 7 different animals?

OK, Vista and Windows 7 are different.  You need the 64 bit Vista driver available from here.  Also be sure to download and install the updates after you install the driver.
