HP Deskjet F4480 installation problems

I have installed, uninstalled, installed, uninstalled my HP Deskjet F4480 which I purchased new today.  When I go into HP Solutions Center and click on Scan I keep getting an error: A required software component was not found or was improperly installed.

Error Info 8, [(8,0,0]

When I click to print, I then get an error that says hpqcutil.dll not found.

I have tried to download this alone...I have been working on this for 3+ hours today.  Please help me.

On your printer software CD, search for an "L3" uninstaller.  Run it.

Now, download the software from hp support site.

I found L3, uninstalled and re-installed from HP Support site.

I can now scan pictures and documents and copy from the Solution Center.  But when I try to print a picture from the Solution Center, I still get the error hpqpse.exe, Unable to locate component.  This application has failed to start because hpqcutil.dll not found.  I am not sure how important this is?  I can print pictures by picking the picture and then printing.  Will this work?  If not, how do I get the hpqcutil.dll.  I have searched the internet to download it, but nothing seems to work.

Well, I guess this is progress!

I would say there are better applications from which to print photos.  Have you ever used Google's Picassa?
