HP LaserJet 1022 Will Not Install

[ Edited ]

Hi! I am trying to install a new printer onto my Windows 7 (64-Bit) computer but when the installation tells me to plug in the USB cord into the printer and the computer, it will not finish installing. The computer reads the USB cord but the installation does not. I have tried using every USB port on my tower, changing the USB cord and troubleshooting online. I download another file and let the computer install it - that does not work.I downloaded another file from HP.com and it will load:After it finished loading, a pop-up says, "Thank you for purchasing HP products. Any previous version of this software found on your computer has been updated with the latest features and support." In my Driver & Hardware, I see a pritner for HP LaserJet 1020 BUT it will not print! I really need help!!!!!

Re: HP LaserJet 1022 Will Not Install

Hi, try running the HP print diag program.

Can you see the 1022 in the Device manager listed under Other devices. (Under View Select Show Hidden Devices)

Re: HP LaserJet 1022 Will Not Install

Here is a document for 3 different install methods for this particular printer with the win7 OS. All 3 methods have been tested with both win7 32 and 64 bit systems and install/print from different applications.

Forum posters have reported back that install method 3 has been very successful for them.

Hope this helps

Re: HP LaserJet 1022 Will Not Install

I also have a HP LaserJet 1022 that will not install with Windows7 64 bit OS.

I can see that this has been a continued problem going on since 2009.

With 375 or better viewers  and NO SOLVED issues.

I can see No good reason to continue asking for technical help, if not answered.

I have worked with all Operating Systems since Windows 3.0

If HP does not have the correct drivers, they should Man-UP and say so.!

This unit has worked on all other OS’s using 64 bit and 32 bit technology.

I currently have to run Vista 64 on a server and cannot make a direct connection and print with my Win7 64 bit on this laptop.

Sadly,  JRRay

PS. I have tried the 3 differnt methods of HP's install and None have worked.

I have also removed all related drivers with a New Installed OS and still NFG.

Also, I have other HP all n one printers running that connect with No Problem.
