HP Office Jet J6480 AIO and Windows 7

This is new for me but will try.

We just upgraded our computers (Yes - all 3) to Windows 7 -  32-bit (I know hindsight is always best, but too late now).  I saw where the updated software for this system will (hopefully) be ready in Jan 2010, that is a long time to wait.  It gave us a work around using a basic Windows 7 driver, but that does not seem to be working.  We can install the printer and see it in printers and devices.  It will accept a job and initally even printed, but only once or twice each printer.  After that it shows the job in the que waiting and says printing but nothing happens.  When you try and delete the job it says deleting but just sits there.  When you power everything down and back up it still shows the job as printing, but this time when you say delete it does.  This is a network printer and two computers are wired and one is wireless. Do you have any suggestiongs for us? Thanks, Shirley

My fix was to disconnect the printer and delete the drivers - go to Best Buy and buy a Brother BFC-255CW for $99 and download the Windows 7 drivers from their site and enjoy it wirelessly on my 3 Windows 7 computers.  Since my Officejet is practically new, I may reinstall it in January to use up the rest of the ink I had stockpiled, but plan to sell it and never go back to HP printers again.  Brother and some others have Win 7 drivers for most, if not all, their products.  HP has let down their loyal customers who were promised drivers "on or before" release date.

Sounds like a possibility.  Will bang around a bit and wear myself out trying to find a solution before I go this far.  May be the best solution in the end.  It sure is frustrating.  Thanks for the reply.  Shirley
