HP Officejet 7213 Solution Centre Software wont load

Can anyone help with this problem please. I am running Vista Home Premium, 32bit, SP-2, with the latest updates from Microsoft installed. Printer is connected via a network connection.

I had a problem with faxing on my 7213 All-in-One. To cure the problem I uninstalled the HP Solution Centre Package and also manually deleted as many of the old HP files as I could find (in hindsight probably a bad move). I then tried to reload the program using the latest files downloaded from the HP website. The product would not install. It gets to ¾ the way through and stops returning the fatal error message 1603 (0x643).

 I have tried all the fixes detailed in the user forums with regard to cleaning up files using Uninstall_L3.bat and also Uninstall_L4.bat – numerous times. I have turned off Auto-update and stopped all non Microsoft services from booting. I have run Disk-Cleanup many times. I have looked through the log files and have found that the installation stops when running the file HPZwrp01.exe.I feel that I perhaps deleted a file that I shouldn’t have when I was cleaning up after the initial uninstall, but I might be wrong here too… Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to avoid having to reload Vista at all costs. Kind Regards

Your trial was failing at the step to install printer driver into your system. Like what you found, the commandline of this step is "hpzwrp01.exe -m DPInstXML_VISTA"

It could have many reason, such as similar driver already installed, or installation is not in administration mode. You can test (with administrator right) only with the above commandline to check if it returns error in the log.

Thanks for the reply, I have made some progress with this problem and I have now got the software loading to the point where I get the message "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753." I have included the contents of the Log File "hpoMSI_CIOUserMode32.log" as follows

I have re-registered the file atl.dll and a number of other dll files that I had deleted, (I have a second system that is a virtual duplicate of this one). I believe that there might still be a file or two that I have not found yet. Any ideas on this.
