HP Officejet Pro 8500 Jams when printing in duplex

When printing Duplex printer routinely jams.  Have cleaned rollers several times with same end result.  Can hear a slight clicking sound as the paper is pulled back into printer to rotate.  Any suggestions?

I'm also having this issue. I downloaded and installed the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility, however it doesn't test the duplex paper handling feature. Anyone else have any success in curing the issue?

Cobbster and Doug1417, have you tried removing the duplexer? Once you do open up the apparatus and clean the rollers and check for any loose paper or debris. This can sometimes cause issues with duplexing.

Follow the instructions here for cleaning all of the paper rollers and inspecting for any other scraps that may be in the machine.

neonskeleton, thanks for the suggestions, but nothing seems to work. I've taken out the duplexer and found no debris  inside. I hear the same 'clicking' sound that Doug1417 mentioned. It's as if something isn't grabbing, or something is slipping. I ran the self diagnostic and it says I've printed a total of 1820 pages and 548 through the duplex. Surely it isn't worn out already? I have no issues EXCEPT when I use the duplexer.

Cobbster, when you fit the duplexor onto the back of the unit, is it firmly in place or is it lose at all? Sometimes if the duplexor is not seated correctly or if its askew then it will cause paper jams because of an irregular paper path.
