HP Solution Center has stopped communicating with my HP F4180 All-in-One

For no apparent reason, my HP Solution Centre program won't start up.  Instead it displays the message "No HP devices have been detected.  HP Solution Centre will close now".   I rely on this program for some of the features it offers that aren't available from the F4180's own panel.

The F4180 shows up in my "Printers" control Panel, and also when I print a document, and it prints just fine.

The 4180 will make copies using the printer's own Copy button, but the Scan button doesn't do anything but cause the power light to blink for a few seconds.

I'm running 32-bit Vista Home Premium, all up-to-date, and HP Update is turned on.  I hope someone can help!!!

Hi TJA,

Have you tried completely uninstalling then re-installing your print drivers?

I would also use the drivers from your printers support page via link below.
