My HP deskjet 3845 works for all applications, except Microsoft Works. I have Windows XP. When i try to print using MS Works, a box appears saying...
"No default printer selected. Use Windows Control Panel to specify your printer."
I think this problem began when I did a system recovery.
Thanks.

Hi there brian73,
If this is happening after a system recovery lets try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on. System recovery can often have very small missing pieces that can impact printers and the print and scan doctor should be able to fish them out.
Best of Luck!
