HP digital Image Monitor crashes and closes when signing into administrator mode

I installed the full software for my HP Officejet j4550 on my windows 7 64 bit operating system.  I installed it from my Standard User Account and when prompted entered the password for the administrator account to install the drivers and software.  Now when I sign into my starndard account, the Digital monitor load and is in the system tray, but when I sign into the Administrator account I get a windows error message that states the application has to close Look for a solution and close the program?

I also have an issue when opening the hp solution center, the center opens, shows me my ink levels for about 5 seconds then I get printer is disconnected and the ink levels disappear.  Any assistance with these issues would be appreciated.  I have uninstalled the items a couple of times and tried installing it from the administrator account and still have the same problems.

Re: HP digital Image Monitor crashes and closes when signing into administrator mode

Hi,

This process may help resolve the problem and should be carried out from your Administrator account.

Download the latest installer software for your printer on the link below and save it to the Desktop.  If you already have this, just place the installer on the Desktop.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL31046/mp-77039-1/OJJ4500_Full_13.exe

Check that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed on your PC.  If you do need to update Adobe Flash, reboot the PC after this installation.

Next download and install Revo Uninstaller from the link below.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php

Disconnect your printer from your PC.

Run revo and use it to uninstall all your printer software.  Right click on the icon of the program you wish to remove and select Uninstall.  During the process you may be asked to delete registry entries, just select all and then click delete.  Do the same for any left over files and folders.  Once the uninstall has completed, reboot the PC.

Download and install ccleaner on the link below.

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

First run the file cleaning utility and then use the registry cleaner by choosing it from the icon on the left.  Click scan for issues and when the scan has finished, click fix selected issues, saving when the program asks, and then delete them.  Repeat this process until no issues are found.

Reboot the PC again.

Temporarily disable any security software ( Antivirus and Antispyware )

Right click the software installer on your Desktop and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  Do not connect the printer to the PC until the software asks.  If everything install Ok, remember to enable your security software.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

DP-K
