Help!!! I can't uninstall Photosmart Essentials

I have a 9-month old HP Pavilion 9252p computer that is running Vista 64 and an Officejet Pro 7680 printer.  I originally installed Photosmart Essentials, but it has never worked properly.  I have tried over and over to uninstall it, but I keep getting an internal error (#2738) no matter which route I take to uninstall the software.  I have tried uninstalling the printer and the other HP software several times, but I still can't take off the old version of Photosmart.  I even have the 3.5 version too which runs by itself.  Unfortunately the poorly named Solution Center keeps looking to the old version. 

Any ideas on how to get rid of the old version without wiping out my hard drive and reloading absolutely everything?  I'm getting desperate here!

Solution One:

1.Click Start.

2.Control Panel

3.Click Programs and features.

4.If there is an entry relating to one of the printers, select it.

5.Then click Change/Remove. Follow the dialog and "uninstall all" or "remove all" as appropriate. 

6. You will also see a prompt to restart the computer after you remove some programs relating to HP Scanning Software from the 'Programs and features' programs list. Click the checkbox labeled Click here to restart later. 

Remove the following from entries from 'Programs and features' Program list if they are listed: 

1. HP Imaging device functions 

2. HP Document Viewer 

3. HP Photosmart Essential

4. HP Image Zone

5. HP Photo and imaging gallery.

6. HP Photosmart, Officejet, Deskjet, or Scanjet, (with product name and software version number) 

7. HP Software update

8. HP Share to web 

9. HP Solution Center 

10. HP Director 

11. HP Memories disk

12. Greeting Card Creator 32

NOTE: Do not remove any items other than those mentioned above if the computer is manufactured by HP or Compaq. 

7 Go to C:\Program Files\HP or Hewlett-Packard (for some older products) and delete the folder Digital Imaging.

8. Go to C:\WINDOWS and rename the twain_32 folder to twain_32 old.

Solution Two:

I am providing you the instructions for uninstalling and reinstall the All-in-One Full Feature software from the download file by downloading the lastest software. Follow below instructions.

Now, please unplug the USB cable from back of the All-in-One and also from the computer.

Step 1 : Uninstall the software

To view hidden files in Windows VISTA

Click the Start(windows logo on left bottom corner)  -> click Control Panel.

 1. Open Control Panel and open Folder options

 2. Click on View and select the option " Show all hidden files " 

 3. Click Apply and click Ok.

Uninstall the software:

 1. Disconnect the printer from the computer or network.

 2. Click on Windows button on the Computer.

 3. Click on Computer option.

 4. Click on C Drive letter to open it.

 5. Double Click on Users folder to open it.

 6. Double Click on the folder "Name will be the Windows Vista LOGIN NAME".

 7. Double Click on Appdata folder to open it.

 8. Double Click on Local folder to open it.

 9. Double Click on Temp folder to open it.

 10. Please Locate and double-click on 7zs2b7.tmp folder to open it.

 11. Double Click on Util folder to open it.

 12. Double Click on CCC folder to open it.

 13. Double click Uninstall_L3

Note : Appdata is a hidden folder. 

7zS2B7.tmp folder name might differ but starts with 7. 

Check for Folder in other users folder if not found with above steps.

Then  double Click on 'Util' older to open it. Once done, double Click on 'CCC' folder to open it. Then double click 'Uninstall_L3'

I have the same problem with my Photosmart C4180.  I have followed your instruction, but after i press enter to uninstall, it does nothing! 

Surely there must be a way to uninstall the printer?

I can not unistall photosmart essentials from windows 7, all other parts of the printer is removed.

All previous instructions do not work.  I have Windoe=ws 7 and I cannot remove HP Photosmart Essentials from my computer.  Is there anyone who really knows how to removeit?
