I need a driver for my Deskjet 1280 on Windows 7 64Bit

I am still having a problem finding a driver for my HP Deskjet 1280 Printer Im using Windows 7 64Bit operating system. Can anyone assist please.

I need it for my new HP Pavilion P6-2021UK computer.

Install the alternate Deskjet 1220 driver available through Windows Update.

I have tried to obtain Deskjet 1220 driver but even updating through Windows its not showing as available. Thanks anyway it was worth a try. Will buy a new printer but not HP as annoyed the driver is not available and the printer is a good one and I have lots of ink to use up. Rod

What version of Windows 7 do you have?  (Open a DOS wondow and type VER.)

Try the following:  Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Add a Local Printer, LPT1: (just as a placeholder), Next, then click on Windows Update.  Your computer will need to be connected to the internet.  It may take several minutes for the list to update, once it does click on Manufacturer HP (not Hewlett-Packard) and scroll down past the Designjet 800PS to the Deskjet 1220c.

If for some reason you cannot get the driver through Windows Update it is also available from the Windows Catalog Site but that site is a bit inconvenient to use.  If your computer will not use the Windows Update procedure please post your OS version and I will post more details.

I have again updated and this time 1220C has appeared so will try and install.

I have exactly the same problem, but whenever I try this solution I repeatedly get a message saying "Windows was unable to get a list of devices from Windows update. Please try again later." I've been trying again later for the last two weeks....

Go to www.hp.com Enter the product name / number. Be sure to check the additional information, like how to install the driver or troubleshooting guides.

Thank you. I have been to the HP website many, many tims to solve this problem. There is no driver on the website, there is no support. The only option is to download a detection tool which tells me what I already know and then redirects me to the page I started on.
