Issue Reinstalling Software For Officejet J4680 All In One Printer

I had an issue with scanning and was instructed to uninstall and reinstall the software for HP Officejet J4680, CB783A.  I have tried several times to reinstall the software from the HP website to my HP Pavilion DV8000, ES184AV with Windows XP Service Pack 3.  I get the error message: The 'HP Officejet J4680 Series' printer driver is not installed on this computer. Some printer properties will not be accessible unless you install the printer driver.  Do you want to install the driver now?  No matter what I do I get the same error message.  I originally downloaded the software from the HP website without any issue and everything was working great until last week.  Thank you for your help.
