Greetings;
I installed the Windows 7 software for our OfficeJet 6310 network printer using HP installation file "AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe" on 2 separate occasions on one 32 bit computer and 1 time on another 32 bit computer. Both computers are Dell. Subsequent to a successful installation of the full software package I successfully printed to and scanned from the printer. We have several printers to choose from and I do not generally use our 6310 to print documents. Scanning occurs infrequently. The next time I attempted to scan documents from the 6310 I received the following error:
"Hp Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete. Please plug in the USB cable or re-run the setup program from the installation CD for a network installation. If this does not complete the installation, or you do not have the CD, access the HP help files by clicking the Start menu."
The printer is no longer listed in Devices and Printers.
A system information detail report for the computer I stalled the software 2 times on is located here.
Any assistance you can provide on why this software appears to install without error, scans and prints successfully after software installation, and then subsequently fails sometime later usually measured in days and very likely subsequent to a reboot or two.
Much thanks!

I have the same problem. I have reinstalled the software 6 times. I am able to scan the documents after re-install but the problem comes back after couple of weeks as I scan infrequently. I have chatted several times with HP Support and they waste a lot time with no permanent solution. All solutions lead to re-install and the problem comes back.
Does HP has a solution for this problem? I am sure their support center gets a lot of calls on this matter.

I have just installed Windows 7 as well, and am having the same problem. I know I'm coming to this thread late, but was the problem ever resolved?

What we will do here is we will try to update the HP Solution Center version from v 13 to v 14. Mostly all printers are now running on v14 but some of the old models do still have v13 Solution Center.
We will download the software from a different printer which has the updated software on HP Solution Center v 14.
You don't need to uninstall the software that you have right now all you have to do is overwrite it using the updated version.
Select the link according to you Operating System and download the full feature software of the printer and save it to your desktop or anywhere on your drive as long as you could be able to see once it is done.

Once you have done downloading the software. Run the installation and select "USB Connected installation". When you get to the part to "agree to the terms and condition". You'll have 4 options there, select on "software to be installed", and you'll be given a list of programs to be installed. Have everything UNCHECK EXCEPT for driver which is already grayed out, HP SOLUTION CENTER and HP DIGITAL IMAGING DEVICE. Proceed with the installation once you have selected the three and once you got to the part to connect the printer using a usb cable. Just select the box below and select " I have already connected the hp device or connect my device later". Then the Installation will just go on. Go with the installation and complete it.
Once the installation is done. Try to perform a hard reset on the printer by turning the pritner off unplugging the power cable wait for 30 secs and you can turn the printer after that.
Try to Open HP Solution Center and you can notice it may be different from what you have previously. Close HP Solution Center and you can try to scan from the printer and check.
Let me know what happen after then. Thanks.
