I'm using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
Does anyone know how to run the OfficeJet G85 scanner please?
I know how to access 'Windows Fax and Scan' but when I click on 'New Scan' I get the error message 'No scanners were detected' even though the printer/fax/copier options work fine...

1) Hit your start icon
2) select devices and printers
(Win 7 should at least recognize the G85 as two items, a G85 printer and as an unamed fax)
3) double click the fax icon
(windows fax and scan should open up)
4) select new fax and get busy!""

I too just upgraded to Win7... it took several Windows updates to get the G85xi to recognize the printer and fax but once it did it was recognized on my network as a shared device too... I went to scan today and when it said it couldn't connect to my PC I googled and found this thread.

Strangely enoug, this subject is marked as solved, but did you actually manage to solve this issue?
I did not. The "solution" provided is plain stupid.
Trying to use the Fax&Scan program in WIn7 only produces the "No scanner found" error.
When I installed the HPG85 first time, I noticed that when I connected it using USB, everything worked fine. But when I use my paralell cable, it failed to install the scanner part. I have since tried to update the driver from WIndows Update, but nothing happens. It prints just fine, but refuses to scan.
