Officejet 6500A Plus does not enter sleep mode

I have just bought a HP Officejet 6500A Plus. Everything seems to work fine, except that it won't enter into the sleep mode after inacitivity.

 

I have turned "Energy Saving Mode" to On in the setup. After a minute or two, the screen saver will be activated but the screen remains to be on all the time, without going into sleep mode. What is wrong and how can I turn sleep mode on?
