I went to my printer's url.  Yes, it's on the network, fine, but no prompt to install drivers, so that didn't solve the issue.  Thanks though.  I'm all out of ideas myself.

Did tthe same and thought it was going to work (drivers installed); but, alas, received 'Fatal Error' during the attempted re-installation.

even if I wasn't completely tired of it, I don't know what else, besides reinstalling the OS, to try!!

If you don't want a computer, get a Mac. However, it's not a computer issue per se; it's HP incompetence.
