Hi,
Did you installed the software for Mac OS X 10.6 after upgrading the os?
If not, remove the installed software by following the HP Uninstaller, located under Applications > Hewlett-Packard.
Download and install the software for 10.6:
Finally, install the latest HP update by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update.

You need to provide more details in your post. Are you using OS x 10.6.8 like the original poster? What application(s) are you scanning from? Are you still able to scan from the control panel on the printer?
