Photosmart C7280 compatibility with Photoshop Elements 7.0

I am running an HP s3552 slimline PC with Vista (x64) Home. (Quad core, 4 Gb RAM, plenty of disk space)

I also have a Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer.

I recently purchased Photoshop Elements 7.0 which installed fine but was then running extremely slowly.

I have now tracked this down to the HP printer. I selected an alternative non-existent postscript printer as default and Photoshop ran fine.

I have downloaded latest HP driver updates which made no difference.

Anybody got any ideas or has managed to solve this? Any help welcome !! :smileyhappy:

I too am having difficulty with the hp 7280 working with Adobe Photoshop CS3. Sometimes it prints sometimes not. I'd be very interested in a solution

Re: Photosmart C7280 compatibility with Photoshop - ProPrint plug-in for Adobe Photoshop®

I have also prolems and found it not very convinent how to print with adobe... many many clicks.... to get the result

thay did not make a Plug in for CS3.... And Printig Photos are little tricky to get what you want if you start make artwork, text on top of you photo... statement about this on the HP site is:

<<HP Photosmart Pro print plug-in for Adobe Photoshop v.7, CS, and CS2 in OS X v10.3.9 and up. Attention CS3 users: The Photosmart Pro print plug-in is not supported in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Improvements made by HP and Adobe to the print with preview workflow render the plug-in unnecessary in CS3. >> <-- I do disagree....workflow, time.... otherwise great printer so far!!!!

Anyway for all CS2 or less user there is a plug is to download also the info I quoted :

Re: Photosmart C7280 compatibility with Photoshop Elements 7.0

[ Edited ]

I have made exactly the same observation as Chester, but with Vista 32bits and an HP C6280. I had the same problem with Photoshop Elements 6.0 that i have now with version 7.0 (plus some crashes with version 6)

Printing is even slower when I use PSE Editor: it takes from 15 sec for the first picture to 2mn for the second one to open for "fast" editing...

No problem with Adobe pdf driver or the Microsoft XPS driver, only with the HP driver.

No problem with the printer driver and other softwares.

The last driver update did not improve the situation. Selecting consistently the Adobe RVB color profile seemed to improve a bit.

I have been using HP printers for nearly 15 years now. But I have seen their reliability decreasing since some years. Time to think of another brand
