Does Photosmart Essential 3.5 work with Win 7? I have a Officejet 8500 Pro A909N. When I launch Photosmart I get a User Account Control Window asking if I Want To Allow The Following Program To Make Changes To This Computer.
Program Name:hpqse.exe.dccdd171-c13c, ect., ect.
Verified Publisher:Hewlett Packard
File Origin:Hard Drive On This Computer
I click yes and it opens the Photosmart Home Screen and then I get a window saying this program has stopped working please close.
Also when I try to scan fron The Solution Center Software I get aHP Scanning error: message stating that some of the software may not be working properly, ect.
I have installed and uninstalled the software many times. Upgraded to Win 7 64 bit, downloaded patches from this forum to no avail. I spent part of yesterday texting with tech support to get the HP Solution Center software to sort of work. It would be great if the software provided for a new printer would work properly. It never worked with Vista 64 bit. This is the only reason I upgraded to Win 7.

There is a new software release for your printer, version 13.0 for windows 7 64bit. It will include a new version of Photosmart Essentials with it. Have you tried to uninstall the old software and put the new software on?
The original software that came with your printer was version 12.0 and did not support windows 7. Version 13.0 does.
